20 Tips to Dress for Success

by Mei Galang

Do you possess the look of a professional? Do you look incredibly smart? Are you confident enough to take charge and get the job that you applying for?

Consider the fact that your resume is quite impressive and the employer can't resist to have the audacity to ask you to come for an interview. But after the all the preparations, your final problem will surely comes up right after you realize and ask yourself ' what should I wear?' These things are actually important for the job hunters, people tend to have a systemic problem nowadays regarding what they should wear on a job interview. Honestly I'm wired toward automatically seeing the person in these kind of situations because I also had the same experienced when I was hunting for a right job. However many take these for granted, with the eloquence of having an 'impressive resume' they forgot that applicants will not only be examined based on the job experience and personality but also with how they present themselves professionally.

Here are the top 20 tips in dressing for an interview

1.Research if the company or your potential employer have a specific dress code.

2.If your planning to buy new clothes, get good advice from sales persons.

3.Have the clothes altered to fit and accent your features.

4.Select an outfit that you have worn before and are comfortable wearing.

5.Your hair should be clean and neat.

6.Do not wear a strong perfume or cologne, scent must be low key or absent.

7.Cover any tattoo and limit pierced jewelry to ears only.

8. For men – Wear a suit or sports jacket that is color coordinated with your trousers.

9. For men – You should have clothes in Neutral or dark colors such as blue, black or gray.

10. For men – Wear a conservative and low key tie. Avoid ties with flashy patterns.

11. For men – Keep your sneakers away. A clean, polished black leather shoes is highly recommended.

12. For men – Don't forget to trim and clean your nails.

13. For men – White socks are definitely NO! Use dark socks.

14. For men – Use dark suit and light colored shirt.

15. For women – Wear a classic suit or simple dress paired with a jacket.

16. For women – The appropriate colors are navy blue, black, dark green, dark red, burgundy or gray.

17. For women – Don't be too provocative or sexy.

18. For women – Trim your fingernails and use a polish that complements your clothes and would not distract the interviewer.

19. For women – Choose a moderate shoes which is clean and with heels that makes you comfortable.

20. For women – Use a tan or light hosiery.

Clothing will play a role in your career so you should continue to pay attention to your wardrobe. Add pieces made of high quality that will match to what you already have. Buy separates that can be mixed and matched. Dressing is not everything but it will definitely add up to your overall impression that you will make on.

These are some advices and the right tools that I can give to someone on their job hunting, but I have to leave it here. Because as we all end up with reality, applicants must not look good with their own respective dress but might as well have the confidence to make themselves qualified enough for the job. Job hunters should think first all the requirements before going to an interview, from the resume to his/her diploma. They must be ready to answer the question exquisitely. So if you want to have a job career in the future, you should consider these suggestion for you to succeed.

Precious Fashion: Jewellery Today And Forever

by Mikhail Podlinev

All most well-known jewellery-houses are introduced in every largest contemporary world’s capital, and their number is still increasing. Celebrities and movie-stars, who regularly appear in the news, promote not at all their new song-albums or most-distributed movies, but on the contrary just another jewellery collection.

Undoubtedly, the cost of such beauty is high. However, when purchasing gold or silver ware from the last ultra-stylish collection, one may be sure to get a «friend» for ages. The jewellery world has its own view upon fashion. Neither diamonds, sapphires nor emeralds have time limits. The same with goods, made of these precious stones: they don’t ever wear out or go out of fashion, but just the reverse – become more unique, expensive each year and always maintain in requisition. At the same time even the most conservative jewellers from time to time phase in fresh ideas into their classic collections’ design. Our task is to catch them!

Let’s begin our review, certainly, with gold. Epidemic demand for white gold, which was on its way for the last few years, is gradually diminishing. According to Baselworld’s – Watch and Jewellery Saloon – survey results, the most fashionable precious metal is pink gold. This Saloon holds its collections’ demonstrations in Switzerland annually in spring. And almost all jewellery brands presented their new collections, which are carried out just in pink, at the last showing. But there’s no reason for conservatives’ agitation – both yellow and white gold are still in great demand, as they always successfully group with diamonds and emphasize on stones’ charm. Moreover they excellently go together and make a good combination with colorful precious and semiprecious stones. Keen on bright colors and anxious for something unusual? Then Korloff offers unique technology especially for you: varnishing gold with specific colorful lacquer. 14 colors, included in the collection, always allow you to select particularly your hue.

Leading positions among precious stones three centuries ago took diamonds. And they still do! In addition to that their colored variations are back in fashion: yellow (Roberto Coin), blue and even black (such jewellery-houses as Iosi Scavia, Luca Carati, Stephan Haffner and de Grisogono use them in their production). Though the majority of customers continue to opt for classic, limpid stones.

As for combination of diamonds with other precious stones, there is a wide range of variations. Most collections could be fairly called conservative, designed for luxurious evening dresses. And in this case, as far as jewelers are concerned, semiprecious stones are not appropriate and, certainly, are inferior to diamonds and sapphires. An unbelievable palette of hues was enabled in one of the last collections of Bvlgari High Jewellery: colors varied from blue with blueness, pink with gently-pink and green to yellow and purple. Yet in comparison with the previous collection – Allegra, where we have already seen such palette, but with the use of absolutely different stones (tourmalines, topazes, quartzes and amethysts), this presented collection is marked with colors combinations of only one precious stone – sapphire. At the jewellery-house Korloff mostly «Royal» materials are used in making their works: designers insist, the design itself is so unique that there is no sense in making it cheaper by the utilization of semiprecious stones.

At the same time many brands, de Grisogono for instance, do not avoid and approve of semiprecious stones’ use and offer various combinations of turquoise, corrals with sapphires and diamonds. Pearls incrusted with diamonds have also reached fashionable pike. One may as well easily find stylish and not so glaringly luxurious furnishings: topaz, amethyst, tourmaline and aquamarine were also added to the list of the most present-day semiprecious stones.

Talking about shape, furnishings are mainly massive and large in size. As concerns pendants, these are round and flat medallions, more than 2 inches in diameter with a huge stone mounting (Di Modolo Milano, Korloff). They perfectly decorate low-cut decollete – so fashionable this season. Earrings are also big, long with fanciful pendants, and seal-rings are beautified with large bright stones or small diamonds’ placer.

The tendency of using conventionalized images of animate nature and abiocoen still continues to develop. The freedom for imagination is unlimited! A great variation of furnishings, rings and earrings, moulded in the shapes of cherries, oranges, melons, watermelons and even egg-plants, is presented in the Fruit collection de Grisogono. All these are made of semiprecious stones and diamonds and look very tasty and dressy.

A chain of footprints is a basic motive of the new Pasquale Bruni collection – Orme. It contains rings and pendants in the foot-shape. Magnificent diamonds light up cascades of blossomed out white flowers in Ghirlanda romantic furnishings of the same brand. Bvlgari also keeps up the flower theme in the collection Sapphire Flower, the main image of which is a flower with 5 sapphire petals and a small diamond in the middle.

Cartier in his works continues to develop animalistic trend in the jewellers’ art. Last year he brought to life the next series of his traditional panthers – La Panthere de Cartier. However, the most present-day furnishings are introduced in the shape of intricate twisted net – «lace» – where one with a touch of vivid imagination can see silhouettes of different animals and birds. (Tiffany & Co, Korloff).

In spite of fresh ideas and innovations, the jewellers’ art fashion is also shown in a wide variety of stones’ cuttings. All methods are far from being new; it is the fact, that just some of them were not used very often. One of the last Bvlgari collections – Rosette made of colored sapphires – received its name from the means of precious stones’ cuttings. Cutting in the shape of «rose» is one the most ancient methodics of stones’ cut. It allows collecting great number of stones into unlimited quantity of fanciful combinations and making unbelievable effect of kaleidoscope. Chopard introduced a very woman-like collection Copacabana, almost all the stones in which have the most present-day cutting «briolette». Korloff offers a unique cutting «Korloff cut» of 65 facets, for which he owns a patent. This method adds miraculous shine to diamonds, which are not very attractive stones in the first place: stones start to blaze thanks to gradual increase in facets’ size and reflection’s flatness.

On the whole, let alone total conservatism in the world of jewellers’ art, fashion offers us many furnishings’ variations this season. It is interesting, that nowadays’ trends repeat fashionable tendencies of the last century: same heavy brooches, pendants, necklaces, decorated with butterflies, dragonflies and flowers. In the long run it proves again, that jewellery is not going out of fashion!

Popularity Of The Retro Clothes

When I was in high school retro clothes were not considered cool. By the time I entered college the clothes that I had spent only a few dollars on at local thrift stores became wildly popular and expensive. After some ridicule for my wardrobe I was quite shocked at the popularity retro clothes gained seemingly overnight. At first I was not annoyed at the sudden acceptance that retro clothes were granted. It wasn't until retro clothes became too expensive that I became irritated.

For many years in high school I shopped at thrift stores and secondhand shops and spent only a few dollars on an entire outfit. Once the cultural shift happened and retro clothes became trendy again I was unable to afford them. This went against everything that retro clothes and wearing them stood for.

It seems that fashions get recycled and regurgitated over and over. It is as if the fashion industry has run out of fresh ideas and must constantly revert to the past and what has already been done in order to fill the next season's catalog. With all the money that clothes and couture pull in, you would think that you would see more innovative designs in the middle sector.

It may have taken me several years, but now I love that retro clothes have come back in fashion because they compliment my natural sense of style. My favorite aspect of retro fashion has to be the jewelry. Everywhere you go now you can find antique-looking jewelry. I am obsessed now with chandelier earrings and ornate necklaces. I have found super affordable jewelry at Kohl’s and Target that satisfy my craving for vintage fashion.

It is difficult now to find the great pieces of retro clothes that I used to find at thrift stores. You have to go to real stores now if you are looking for vintage fashion and everything is getting more and more expensive. There is a double-edged sword here because I don’t want retailers to stop carrying these clothes that I love but I also miss the super cheap prices that I used to find them at.

I will have to accept that some day retro clothes will once again fall by the wayside and be forgotten by major retailers. By that time, there should be such a supply of used clothing that I will find those vintage-inspired pieces I love so much at thrift stores once again. The recycle circle goes on and on and I plan on benefiting from it again.

TheFashionMagazine.Com provides readers with the latest reviews, articles, commentaries and write-ups on all retro clothes, fashion industry, vintage fashion related subjects.

Paralegals and Pearls – A Match Made in Fashion Heaven

by Laura McDonald

Paralegals wear suits to work. Their jobs are professional in nature and it is important to dress appropriately with that sense of that business world. Ladies, carefully consider how you accessorize with jewelry for the office. A legal assistant’s jewelry should be simple yet elegant.

What is the perfect jewelry selection for work? Pearls.

Resting among the oldest and most universal of gems is the pearl, shining in its many splendors. Pearls are symbolic of purity and chastity, the ultimate of feminine charm. Ancient Romans considered pearls a symbol of wealth and social standing. Pearls were also held in high esteem by the Greeks.

Fair maidens during the Dark Ages believed there was magic in the lustrous gems which would protect them from harm. These maidens often graced a favored noble knight with a strand. Knights thus favored would even wear those strands of pearls into battle. The royal courts of Europe were adorned with pearls. At one time, several European countries ordered that only nobility were allowed to wear pearls.

Pearls are available in the entire color spectrum making them easily adaptable to any outfit. Rose' and silver/white pearls better compliment lighter skin tones. Pearls with a creamier hue or gold-tone flatter darker skin tones.

Sharp business fashion is satisfied by stranding pearls in two different ways. The first way combines pearls of the same size and shape. The second option is a necklace of similarly shaped pearls, but graduating in size to the middle of the piece. A tip: wear necklaces no greater than 16-18” in length. This keeps another’s focus automatically pulled upwards, toward the face, which is best for work communication. Another tip for paralegals when wearing pearl necklaces: add just a touch of gloss on your lips. A pearl necklace captures focal point attention, moving upwards, first to the subtle lip shine and upwards again to shining eyes.

Pearls are beautiful jewelry staple for office wear. They are also very adaptable to many occasions in a woman’s life. The petite gems are often a “rites of passage” gift for young ladies, such as a 16th or 21st birthday. Pearl necklaces can be either store-bought for such gifts, or hold the sentimental value of being handed down family generations.

Pureness is symbolized in weddings by white gowns, white lace…and pearls. The luminescent beads are worn by brides, ladies in the wedding party itself, and mothers of the bride and groom. Female wedding guests may also wear pearls.

Pearls are just as appropriate for other occasions, such as church services, or an evening at the opera. Add a pearl necklace to a social mixer outfit and the outfit is complete. Tiny pearl earrings can be worn anywhere for any occasion.

Pearls are quite literally gems that a woman can infuse into her wardrobe for many occasions in her life. Versatility of color hue makes mixing and matching a breeze. Combined with the pearl’s history of symbolic purity and wealth, what better accessory is there for a paralegal to wear?

A paralegal will greatly benefit from simply adding pearls to her wardrobe. The benefits are both in the sense of appropriate business fashion, and to her as a beautiful woman. A woman’s pearls shine, just like her eyes do, as she succeeds both professionally and personally. If you have not done so already, add pearls to your wardrobe today.

Laura McDonald is an experienced paralegal, living in Frankfort, KY, with her husband and youngest daughter. She works for the law firm of Michael L. Hawkins & Associates, PLLC (website: mlhlawky.com). Laura's website is dedicated to encouraging young ladies to consider a career as a paralegal. In The Name Of Fashion

by Kadence Buchanan

Walking down the crowded streets, pushing your way through the queue, passing through the halls of a high school, dancing on the club floor, you simply can't help noticing how people especially youngsters, try to decorate every part of their body. In fact, it makes you think the human body should have had an extra pair of hands and feet not to mention ears and maybe a pair of extra nostrils too, so that people wouldn't need to pierce their lips, tongues, bellies and eye brows etc. The youngsters over the past decade have begun using rings and tops profusely. There was a time when you could identify and differentiate between a punk and a normal guy. The impact and influence of media is so strong that it is hard to stop the current generation from adopting methods of reconstructing themselves. They want to singularity, they crave for excitement.

Jewelry has lost its true essence and it is everywhere and anywhere. It just has to be there. Starting from the ear that could compensate two earrings which could palpably be decent somehow changed into the maximum amount of tops and earring the ear lobe can hold. It wouldn't be an exaggerated statement to say ears are adorned with 9 or 10 tops at a time which makes it similar to a jewelry shop's display of earrings with every sort of design, size and shape.

Then comes the nose, the nostrils can readily be pierced at one place. Ironically, girls these days wear so many nose pins, that their nose seems smaller than the ornaments on it.

Human's exuberance and liveliness is projected even more vividly when you find a pierced belly or lip. You can heave a sigh of relief and acknowledge the human consideration of restricting the number of rings and pins used at these spots to just one or maximum of two. Perhaps, the concept behind getting a tongue pierced can only be appreciated when the person with a tongue piercing sticks out a decorated tongue on you.

Humans have a revolting nature and an unquestionably brilliant way of making a muddle out of everything, even if its idea was to help them or adorn their lives. Even in the name of fashion, the newer generations seem to be making a mockery of themselves.

So You Want To Be A Fashion Model?

by Jon Arnold

Have you ever thought about becoming a fashion model? Do you think you have what it takes for that kind of job? The typical fashion model travels to exotic places, models the latest clothes, fashions, and accessories from top designers, and can even be featured in various magazines, which of course can also then lead to being pursued by manufacturers for you to do product endorsements.

But that is typically not where a fashion model STARTS. Like anything else, a fashion model or teen model usually starts significantly lower on the totem pole while they are gaining visibility with potential clients and top modeling agencies around the world. But if you are willing to “pay your dues”, the rewards can be fabulous from many perspectives, including travel, mingling with celebrities, attending exclusive events, and of course from a financial perspective. Top models can earn upwards of thousands of dollars per day.

Fashion modeling is no longer limited to just the “perfect” people anymore with the great looks, superb hair, and a Barbie-doll figure. Particularly in recent years, the fashion designers have started to realize that by only targeting the “perfect” people, they were ignoring a large portion, indeed a MAJORITY, of the audiences they could potentially target to sell their merchandise, accessories, and fashions.

That being the case, there is also a market for fashion models that almost spans the entire range of types of people; i.e., the petite, the “plus size”, the teen, the “mature”, and yes even the retiree crowd. Think about it, all those types of people have money also, and are willing to spend it if they are aware of the possibilities and availability of their products. And selling their creations and fashions is what they are in business for! To become a successful fashion model today, you no longer need to be limited to the group that is about 5 foot 8 inches tall at 120 pounds with perfect bouncy hair and about 22 years old.

There are many types of modeling jobs available, and virtually any of them would be a good start for someone with the motivation and desire to get into some of the top spots and top agencies. There is catalog modeling, runway modeling, showroom modeling, promotional or trade show modeling, television modeling, as well as print modeling like in newspapers or magazines.

Make no mistake about it, it is a tough market and there will likely be some long hours involved. But for those with the motivation and desire to succeed in this very competitive industry, the rewards can far outweigh the negatives.

Beaded Handbag: The Ultimate Fashion Statement For You!

by Glen B. Porter

A beaded handbag can make a great accent piece to your stylish clothing. They range from small, seed bead covered clutches to handbags made of larger beads that are perhaps a carryall, so you can match your sleek party dress with a black beaded clutch, or try a larger beaded handbag for your day in skimpy spaghettis, Hawaiian shorts and flowery flip-flops at the beach.

Beaded handbags can be bought at many bag and purse stores, as well as occasionally be found at accessories stores. Or you can go hunting for one at arts & craft fairs and crafters’ stores. You could even get a fun beaded handbag custom made for you by a bead crafter. Fear duplication no more. Just choose the design and the beads that you want and you’ll be set for a unique item. Beaded handbags can be works of art, too. If you like Native American art, why not try out a Native American beaded bag? This gives your outfit some culture and shows off your style.

Beaded handbags, earrings, bracelets and other accessories can be fun and trendy accent pieces for anyone of any age. Use a beaded handbag to add some fun and personality to your purse collection. You’ll look trendy while exuding your own personal sense of style. And if you are quite good with your hands, why not make yours even trendier by making it yourself? You can make full use of your artistic talents in creating unique signature pieces suited to your needs. I bet you played princess when you were small. Now, you can try to make your own style of adult bead handbag with a bead loom and some beads. These make fun accessories for yourself and great, thoughtful gifts for friends.

To get started, you can get a bead loom at many bead stores, as well as picking out the beads for the project. You’ll want a lot of beads that are the same size and type – use different color patterns to make your design. Patterns and instructions on how to make your bead handbag are widely available on the internet or in subject-specific books. Your bead loom can also be used to make bead bracelets and necklaces, which you could coordinate with your handbags to make a stronger fashion statement.

Let your imagination soar with new and old pieces alike. You can take an ordinary handbag which has been sitting unused in your wardrobe and bead it for a fun beaded look. Use the beads to sew a design onto the fabric to enliven an older, boring bag. You can save lots of money and always stay in style that way.

What if you do not have the time or the patience to do things yourself? Then my advice is to delve into cyberspace for some ready-made pieces. Make sure you have lots of time to browse. If you’re like me, you can just sit there hour after hour scrolling down the screen because there are simply too many wonderful creations to choose from. There are many beaded handbag designers on the internet, with styles ranging from the cool and fun handbag for a glittering party girl to more graceful editions for more formal, professional events. You can carry a beaded handbag to a formal or semi formal event to add a bit of your personality to your solemn outfit. There are even beaded crocheted handbags available, which add another level of texture to a beaded handbag.

Accessorize Your Apparel with Stylish Fashion Jewelry

by Chris Robertson

If you’re feeling a little drab with your outfits, don’t worry. Whether you’re planning a family outing, attending a formal party or dinner, or just going out for a night on the town, you can spruce up any of your outfits with stylish fashion jewelry. Don’t spend more money on new clothes – accessorize the outfits you already have with lovely fashion jewelry. Here are some great tips to help you achieve the look and feel you want with almost any outfit.

Fashion Jewelry Necklaces – Slender the Neckline

Necklaces can enhance the look of your shirt, sweater or dress by adding color, brightness and beauty. You can even make your neck and upper body appear thinner by wearing certain types of necklaces. For example, if you have a solid colored shirt or dress with a rounded neckline, wear a necklace of medium length that hangs in a V-shape. The V-shape will make the neckline appear narrow and will also draw attention away from the arms and shoulders. For a larger person with broad shoulders, this is a thrilling discovery! It’s the easiest weight-loss program around!

For shirts or dresses with a V-shaped neckline, a medium to short necklace that’s more rounded looks nice. Again, wearing opposites near the neck draws attention away from other areas, so a slender look is achieved once more. The type of slide you choose also makes a difference. Use a slide that matches or complements your outfit, but choose the size and shape carefully. Fashion jewelry necklaces and slides look different on everyone depending on the person’s neckline size and body shape. Even the shape of the face should be considered.

Some types of fashion jewelry necklaces include beads, pearls, diamonds, chains (rope or regular), twist, multi-chain, braided, etc. There are also many themes to choose from in slides, including animals and nature, elegant designs, bead assortments and more.

Bracelets and Earrings

Once you find a necklace, choose a bracelet and earrings to complement the necklace. Or, you can buy all of these in a set. Bracelets help make your ensemble complete. Earrings help bring attention to your face and away from your upper body and shoulders. Some earrings shine and glisten while others are plain and simple. Either way, they make great additions to your apparel.

Specialty Jewelry

If you like silver, then try sterling silver jewelry. It’s gorgeous for all occasions and comes in a variety of styles, sizes and shapes. If you are allergic to many types of jewelry, then hypoallergenic fashion jewelry might be a solution. Hypoallergenic fashion jewelry looks the same as other jewelry, but is made a certain way as to not trigger allergic reactions. If you have skin rashes or other reactions to jewelry, try hypoallergenic fashion jewelry before giving up all together. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Fashion Jewelry and other Accessories for Work

When dressing for work, use fashion jewelry to dress for success. Add a necklace, watch and matching handbag to your work apparel to show you are ready for the tasks ahead. Keep work-related jewelry simple so it doesn’t get in the way. For example, rings that are very large or pointy might be a hindrance if you work with your hands often. Choose fashion jewelry for work that’s both sensible and fashionable.

Shopping for Fashion Jewelry made Easy on the Web

You can easily shop for beautiful fashion jewelry online and save time and money. Many fashion jewelry sites sell all types of jewelry, watches, handbags and even other products such as luggage, Italian charms, etc. When ordering online, you can take your time to browse all the categories and choose the fashion jewelry that works best for you.
